This poetry album features Eight Views of Xiao and Xiang Rivers poems composed by Prince Anpyeong (Yi Yong), inspired by the scenery near Dongting Lake in Hunan Province, China. It contains poetic writings by nineteen prominent figures of the Joseon Dynasty. The poem by Kim Jongseo (1383–1453) is thought to be in his own hand, written in a natural style that blends regular and semi-cursive scripts. The uniquely styled clerical script attributed to Shin Sukju (1417–1475), however, appears to be a later imitation. This album serves as a valuable record of prominent early Joseon literati and the calligraphic culture of the period.
