Sub-theme1
This work is based on the monumental landscape (巨碑山水) style, which emphasizes the vastness of nature and the smallness of human presence within it. Hills and mountains are positioned to one side in each painting, creating a harmonious composition when displayed side by side. A river flows along one side, while boats and wild geese fade into the mist, enhancing the sense of depth and atmosphere. A pine tree rising from a hill draws the viewer’s gaze into the distance. These elements—including monumental nature, asymmetrical balance, hilltop pine trees, and layered spatial depth—are hallmarks of the An Gyeon School style.
