The diagonally flowing valley divides the composition into foreground and background, with the tallest peak placed toward the right side of the painting. In the foreground, various small figures are depicted in detail—a man reading inside a thatched cottage, people crossing a bridge, and a scene of someone seeing off a guest. Thick mist fills the valley below the mountain, allowing only faint silhouettes of trees to emerge and adding to the wintry atmosphere. The rocky mountain peaks are rendered using the danseon jeomjun (短線點峻) technique, which combines short lines and dots to suggest texture, while the distant mountains are portrayed with sharp, pointed peaks.
