Sub-theme1
This work is a piece of cursive script by Hwang Giro (1521–after 1575), composed and written in response to the rhymes of poems by other writers. Featuring medium-sized characters within his oeuvre, the work demonstrates cleaner brushstrokes and a more concise composition compared to his works with larger characters. By restraining exaggerated or irregular strokes and boldly omitting dots and strokes coupled with swift, fluid brush movements, the work exemplifies another facet of Hwang Giro’s highly individual cursive style.
