This album was compiled by Prince Anpyeong (Yi Yong), bringing together exemplary works of calligraphy by renowned masters from various periods. Notably, it includes a work by Kim Saeng, a celebrated calligrapher of the Unified Silla period. The album also contains numerous pieces by Zhao Mengfu (1254–1322), the eminent Yuan-dynasty calligrapher, reflecting Prince Anpyeong’s deep admiration for and study of Zhao’s calligraphic style. After compiling the first edition in 1443, Prince Anpyeong presented a woodblock-printed edition to the court in the eleventh lunar month of 1450, which was subsequently issued by the Gyoseogwan (Office of Publications).
