This painting depicts a gathering of officials from the Ministry of Military Affairs (Byeongjo), the government office responsible for military affairs. The title Hagwan gyehoedo (夏官契會圖) appears at the top, with Hagwan serving as an alternative name for Byeongjo. The composition is divided into three sections using fine red lines: the title is inscribed at the top, the central section contains the gathering scene, and the list of participants is recorded at the bottom. This work is a classic example of a gyehoedo—a commemorative painting of an official gathering—rendered in the schematized landscape manner associated with An Gyeon.
