This copy of the Surangama Sutra was translated into Korean and printed with these movable metal types under the supervision of the Gangyeongdogam. This particular version underwent an editorial process in which King Sejo himself, his daughter-in-law, Lady Subin of Han, and scholars worked together to translate the text into Korean and correct errors by reading the text aloud. Movable metal types were employed to print this edition, and one can easily identify letters printed from the same type.
