Sub-theme1
This large buncheong jar, measuring nearly 50 centimeters in height, features two dragons inlaid on the lower body, depicted flying through clouds and playfully chasing flaming pearls. Around the neck and shoulder (excluding the area with ruyi heads) small chrysanthemums are densely stamped, illustrating a transitional phase in which inlay remained the primary decorative technique, supplemented by limited use of stamping. Believed to have served as a royal ritual vessel prior to the adoption of blue-and-white porcelain dragon jars at court, this jar embodies both the continuity of tradition and the influence of emerging styles. Its refined decoration and subdued coloration distinguish it as one of the finest examples of high-quality buncheong ware.
