These ritual vessels were used to hold wine and purified water. The sangjun, decorated with an incised elephant motif, was used to offer purified water and a type of milky rice wine used in rites. The huijun, incised with an ox motif, held purified water and a sweet rice drink. These bowl-shaped vessels closely correspond in form to ritual vessels illustrated in the “Gillye” (Auspicious Rites) section of the Five Rites appended to the Annals of King Sejong.
