These jars were excavated from the tomb of Princess Jeongso (1412–1424), the eldest daughter Stamp-Patterned of King Sejong (r. 1418–1450). One jar departs from the tradition of Goryeo inlaid celadon, reflecting a more distinctly Joseon interpretation of inlaid buncheong ware. The other two jars are densely decorated with rows of stamped dots, representing an early stage in the development of stamp-patterned buncheong. The presence of both inlaid and stamp-patterned buncheong wares in the same tomb provides symbolic evidence of a transitional moment in decorative technique—from inlay to stamping—during the early Joseon period.
